OrangeSlice helps youth sports clubs organize volunteers. This page explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Each club decides which events and hour requirements to run; we provide the service on its behalf.
What we collect
- Volunteers: your name, email, optional mobile number, the shifts you sign up for, the club you volunteer with, and the club members (such as athletes) you volunteer for.
- Club members (athletes, rowers, players): only first and last name, group, whether they’re a minor, and guardians’ contact details, as provided by the club. We never contact minors directly; adult members who volunteer for themselves are contacted as volunteers.
- Coordinators: name, email, and what you do in the app (for the club’s audit log).
How we use it
To run sign-ups, send confirmations and reminders, track volunteer hours toward club requirements, and let coordinators manage events. Names shown to other volunteers are always first name and last initial.
Text messages
If you add a mobile number, we text reminders and schedule updates for the shifts you sign up for. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time; you’ll still get emails.
We do not share, sell or rent mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with anyone for their marketing or any other purpose. Mobile numbers are used only to send the messages described above.
Who we share with
Your club’s coordinators see your sign-ups and hours. We use service providers to run the app (hosting, database, email and text delivery), who process data only to provide those services. We don’t sell personal information.
Keeping and deleting data
Hours records are kept so clubs can track requirements. Information about volunteers from other clubs is deleted after a set period (24 months by default). To ask for your data or for deletion, contact your club or email us.
